What I did instead of going on the car cruise today......

This car was cleaned up about two years ago and was ready for another round of attention, especially with some track days and daily driving in the last two years.

We started with a good wash, then clay bar.

Not too many pictures in between, but there were a couple rounds of buffing, lunch, another wash, some Zaino Z5 and Zaino Z2, and a little goofing off with the kid to get the car done.

The finished product...

Thanks for such an awesome day, Randy! What a blast! Lot's of elbow grease, a ride in a vintage buick, Lunch at TJ's, Hanging out with Mikey & Shelley, and of course a wonderful dinner with your family. I could not think of a better way to spend a Sunday!

The car came out beautifully! I can't believe how dirty it was when we clayed it!!!! Although the finish wasn't "that bad", it was still in need of some attention. As always, the car left Randy's well after dark, but shining like a brand new penny.

Thanks again, Randy! Hopefully the weather will hold out this week and I will have a chance to enjoy it a bit. I also hope that Mikey enjoyed the burnout as much as I did? Next time I am going for third gear!

What does something like this cost?

It cost Matt a number 5 meal at Taco John's. :thumb:

Randy

Edit: I would have super sized the meal if he wanted the engine and interior taken care of. :D

I'm getting it super sized with dessert when we do your Pimpala. That is a lot of real estate to clay and buff!:ohnoes:

You have some sort of school on how to make cars that nice Randy? That looks like it could be something fun to learn how to do.

Well, I think it is fun and there is a certain gratification you get when the finished product is shining perfectly. :thumb:

I have done some demonstrations and hands on stuff for other clubs with good success, even though I am very amatuer in the world of detailing. Most people just want me to do their car for free and call it a 'demonstration', rather than them actually learning how to do it.:dunno:

I have no problem showing and teaching people proper washing, clay bar use, drying, and polishing techniques, and even offer many of my supplies and tools for people to try.

Todd and I have talked about another 'detail day', but we haven't gotten much farther with it.

Well let me know when you get something together or just plain feel like doing it and I'll be there. This week I gave up on attempting to make the failturd look decent, I suppose that's why it's the failturd though.
