Anyone know of a good place locally to buy air compressor pump parts?
Something on the lower end of my compressor pump is causing excessive drag and making noise and I want to know I can get parts before I pull it apart.
I've tried looking up the part number and can't find anything or even what it matches to.

What you need to do is identify the manufacturer of the pump itself. Curtis, Thomas, CH, ect... all still make most of those compressors and will have the replacement parts you need. Montgomery Ward just bought what was available at the time and re-sold it. Looks to me like that second number (DK-90508) is the compressor identifier but a careful inspection of the pump itself might turn up more clues.
Another option is to buy a new compressor... just have to match the new one to what you already have.

Thanks Adam.
I looked over the pump and the only thing I've found is a patent number on a plate on the head, and the number 8238 on the crankcase. I've googled both of Wards part numbers with and without "Wards","air compressors" etc. and haven't come up with enough to get a part number and like you're saying it could be made by more than one company. I've come across Campbell Hausfeld and DeVilbiss so far and no way of identifying it specifically. I was thinking there has to be some shops around town that I could bring the pump in and they would know right off the bat.
I looked at pumps online and they run from $200-$300 so that's pretty much out for something I paid $50 for. It seems to be in pretty good shape otherwise. I had the head off and the cylinder + walls look like new.
