I am glad to hear that. You'll enjoy the car the drag strip a lot more and see the potential it has. A 200r4 would be a nice choice if you cah get it built to handle the power.

Honestly, if the 99 hadn't decided to weld some bearings to the crank, I would probably have at least gotten something done on it this year before it got put away into storage.

Still no concrete decision on which trans. I will wait until I have the money to start the project and then see if I can afford the TH2004R build or if a TH400 is going to be the ticket. I am kind of waiting until I have a good $2k saved up to start the project. Considering I need everything from an SFI flexplate to possibly altering the driveshaft length, it is going to cost me a bit to get it the car back in one piece. Not to mention I don't even have a shifter or brake pedal in the car right now and the exhaust is going to need to be reworked... Maybe I should wait until I have $3k saved up...lol.

If a 4L80E appeared in my garage I would probably find a way to use that :D .

I've actually driven the TTA a few times since the other whip is getting painted. It's not looking good for Saturday though. I got an offer to go golfing at the White Bear Yacht Club for free on Saturday afternoon and I'm thinking that's what I'm going to do.. If anything changes I'll be at the cruise though

Funning thing is two of the tee boxes at the Yacht club actually go across hwy 96. SOOOO, if someone shanks a Titleist Pro V1x threw your windshield durring the cruise it may or may not have been me!:ugh:

Yeah my 60' was like a 2.2 and i was having clutch sticking issue's and it STILL ran that. I know i should be low 12's high 11's easily but the IRS, 6speed and stock tires it's hard to launch hard without the tires just going up in smoke.

I was able to get a 1.7 on the nitto's. They suck for the track but good on the highway. Definitely better than street tires. Plus cheaper than M/T and BF goodrich

I don't have the time slips but the '96 Firehawk went 12.999 and the Camaro went 12.7xx. Both are kind of terrible for what's under the hood but I chalk it up to stiff suspension & primarily bad driving. I don't remember MPH but it was something like 108 for the Firehawk & 113 for the Camaro.

Few weeks back at LMP. This was before I advanced the cam too. Got it advanced 4 degrees now and it feels stronger all around for sure. My 315 hoosiers should be here sometime soon, so i should hit high 11s pretty easy next time out. But I might pull my motor and do a head swap and check my rear main seal and rear cover to see if its leaking first. It almost looks like I'm leaking some oil out of the bellhousing. The clutch started to chatter/slip at take off after 2 runs at LMP too, but it was perfectly fine once I got back. I wonder if some oil got on my clutch or maybe it just got hot after two runs back to back.

Well Jim then I guess you and I do not see eye to eye. Chime in all the time??? 8 friggin posts man! Nobody even knows what the hell his combo is and show me where he has taken the time to help somebody in need on this site or helped out in organizing an event or even showed up to one with the association or a group of members from here??? It's a pretty simple fact to point out and I think it matters with respect to having your spot on the list.

I don't think it is right to just show up on here, never contribute to jack shit and post up your ET. You cannot tell me that the whole thing doesn't become a stupid dick measuring contest at that point and that some people are just looking to get their ego stroked. When it is an actual community of friends where people know each other and help eachother out and go to events together and have actually seen each others cars in person; the site, association/club, and this list means much more to everyone involved.

And Jim you don't contribute much these days, but you have in the past and still do from time to time. And at least you have been around here and posted for years on this board and the previous one that everyone on here frequented. Many of us have seen your car and know about how it runs (ran). The same cannot be said for some of the others on that list so don't compare yourself to them. But I hate to say it... if you remain out of MN for long enough, I think you should no longer have a spot on the list either.

As for mwhelan, I simply asked who he knew. I wondered if he was just some random guy that was gonna stop by, post up his ET on here like we should care, and never even show up or post here again. I mean what is the point of having the Association? And I did not insult him until he insulted me. And nobody is allowed to talk to me like that. Ever. Period. I address people accordingly depending on how they address me and I will do so in person just as I do on here. End of story.

Gino - I don't know this guy, but I hope I have explained what set me off. I did not levy insults at this guy until he did so to me first. And I agree with you 100% that it is not really right to be posting up an ET from a car you no longer have. And I feel that somebody that is never on here and/or nobody or almost nobody knows should not have their ET listed. Maybe we should look into having a minimum number of posts or time on the forums to be included in things like this list.

this is an open club, whether you're new or not, sure it may mean more if you're active but if someone has to contribute and be around for a few year before they're accepted then this place is gonna die out in a hurry. He has a nice GM car, posted his time, and got shit. I would like to see more people with nice cars becoming more active on the forum or out with the club, but jumping on them for not posting much before hand is NOT the way to do it. Some people spend a lot of time on the internet, or work a lot, or work plus go to school. Let's not exclude them from our fun.

That being said, I think maybe ya'll should put a restriction of coming to one club event before being allowed on this list, and count previous mnfbody events as well for that since a lot of people migrated from there.
