Where's the J-body section around here? I need a place to look up info on the Z24, that's all I have to mod down here. Nitrous is going in before the weekend. http://www.hardcoresledder.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/got_nx.gif

Well... gotta do something to polish that turd up a bit. I guess pumping it full of gas will do the trick. Doing a 300 or 400 shot

Yep, got boring without electricity for a few weeks, murdered it out and got an ebay intake so far. It will probably be a 75 shot, its my friends kit, so it isn't going to cost me anything. :D Should be enough to beat all the ricers around here.

Oh, I see how it is, I guess I'm not allowed here anymore. :tear:
Hey, are your tires 315s or 335s? I saw some of the hoosiers in 335/35s for sale and he had them on 11" rims, looked pretty tits.

Texas is pretty cool, minus the hurricane stuff that took place, but its about back to normal now. It hasn't been too hot, it was when I first got here, like high 90s. Now its only mid to high 80s, its starting to cool off, so its pretty nice. The car scene down here is cool as shit. Big ass car meets every weekend, like 200+ cars most the time. This weekend its a cruise meet, so like 100 some fast cars rolling down the interstate racing the whole time basically. Good times. Hopefully I'll have my car down here after Christmas, then I can run it down here at the track in January when its nice and cool.
School is fun, we have just been working on the engine masters challenge motors and getting both the Camaro's ready for the LSX shootout. Judd's orange Camaro should be pretty sweet, pretty wicked intake setup on it now and such. We took the 500" LS2 out to the track last weekend for some shakedown passes. We should get the 427 running this week still, that will be fun to hear that.

SAM did good last year at the Shootout. I'm sure they will do this year as well. Are you going to the shootout?

Yup I'm going there. Yeah they did good last year, would have done better if the tranny didn't shit out. This year they had a doug nash 5 speed all bolted in and ready to go, but then got a call at the last minute saying that it was illegal after they were told it was legal before. Soo, they had to go back to the jerico 4 speed and make new clutch linkage again because they had it all setup and ready to go for the 5 speed. Soo it will be interesting to see what it does. The jerico is rated at 800hp and 8000 rpm, the SS is making 940 and spins to 9600. So it will be a gamble keeping it together again this year.
The dual dominator style 2000cfm throttle body setup is pretty wicked though. :3gears:

Welcome to the site.
Tell Jud and Linda that Amber said that they were going to whip that ass at the shootout.
No, I ain't lying.
Sounds like school is going well. Erik has several guys at his shop that are still in school. They are pretty cool guys.

Haha, nice. I don't even know if Joe or Amber have seen the new setup for the SS. They were over here at the school last week tuning the 500" Z28, it was pretty weak being the converter sucked along with no gear. Maybe she was talking about that one being linda will be driving that at the shootout as well. :dunno: The race with them against the orange one should be an interesting one and fun to watch. :D

Yep we were out there yesterday. That was linda's Z running consitant 10.5s at 130ish. They are gonna throw some 4.11s in it today and see what it does. Its a full weight car with a powerglide and 3.70s, so its holding it back quite a bit. We might be going back there tomorrow and see what they both do with some more fine tuning. The HOSS ran a 8.80 at 157, didn't have much traction though.

Sweet. I would have thought that 500" motor would be a little better than that, but I guess the gearing is killing it though. Still pretty cool.
I think we could see a 8.6x in memphis this year if the weather is right.

Yeah, they are gonna throw a 3 speed in it, but didn't have time to do it before the shootout. Should help quite a bit coming from a glide in a full weight car like that. Either way, LSX is gonna be a good time. Are you going?

No I can't make it. Any updates on the NA class. I heard Jud blew a tire on the big end. Is everything OK??

Yeah, Jud blew the front right tire and bent a bogart at the end of the track due to a brake issue. The rear brake line blew out after rubbing on the new rear wheels. They think the front locked up because he started pumping the brakes and eventually built up enough pressure to lock up a front and blow it out. So he had to pull the 'chute to slow it down. Good thing they put that on there this year.
They got that fixed Friday morning with a new set of billet specialty aluma-stars and some M/T front runners along with some new brake calipers and such. The best so far is a 9.06 at 152.5. Last night Sprio Pappas' tuner Don Bailey came over and looked at the data and the tune and suggested we take out some clutch, so we tore the tranny out and removed 3 of the 6 clutch fingers to let it slip some more. Got the tranny back in and ready to go this morning. First run out the car shot straight up to the limiter and didn't go too far. So the tranny came out again to adjust the clutch some more. Ran again later this evening, and did the same thing. It did launch better that time though with a 1.33 60' but as soon as he grabbed second it shot to 10k. So the tranny came out again and they are just going to put the clutch back to about where it was before so it will at least get down the track.
Honeycuts best is a 8.96 so far. Hope the old HOSS has some left in it to pull it off. :fingersx:
